It’s swingy, super comfortable and will probably get lots of wear before the weather finally cools down. 🍷Wine Wednesday🍷 Have you ever started a project you’re sure is a bad idea? This is the beginning of my Kinikin cardigan. Your eyes aren’t deceiving you, those are size US 19 needles. 😱 The pattern is written for bulky weight yarn, which is what I’m using, but even that is dwarfed by these vampire-slaying-stakes-masquerading-as-knitting-needles. Between the loose gauge, the giant needles (struggling to maintain tension with) and the super soft unplied yarn, I KNOW this sweater won’t be built to last. But … it’s so pretty and soft! Working up quickly and oh-so-comfy! Sewing Sunday🪡 Made this for dad’s big 75th birthday party yesterday! Pattern is McCall’s M7971, view C bodice, view B skirt but adding the skirt split from view D. I took an inch out of the bodice length and the back still gapes a bit (see my stories for more) but I’m not redoing it again. 🤣 I may add another hook-and-eye to the back. This is the size 12 and C cup on a 36” bust. Fabric is an embroidered cotton—I love it, but the embroidery makes it tricky to get all the wrinkles out. Fortunately they’re hard to notice on black. #sewingsunday #sewing #sewist #memade

I knit the size S, though the pattern suggests a more oversized silhouette, that’s not really my style. My finished pullover has a bust circumference of 41.5,” which gives me 5+” positive ease. I think that’s perfect with the long armholes that already allow for lots of extra room and movement. I used 3 skeins of @mofibers Cotton Sport and while I’m not usually a cotton person, I found it lovely to work with. It’s soft, easy on the hands, and comfy to wear too.
