Bound Off: Flax Pullover
I'm excited to say, I finally finished knitting something! Doesn't JJ look thrilled?
I wanted a simple sweater that I could reasonably expect to finish while it was still winter, so I opted for the popular Flax pullover from Tin Can Knits. It's one of the free patterns from their Simple Collection and is plain stockinette with garter panels on the sleeves.
It knit up relatively quickly in Knit Picks Wool of the Andes Tweed and took juuuuuust a smidge over 3 skeins for the 2-4 year size. I made the usually terrible decision of not swatching because I've knit with WOTA enough to know my gauge, more or less, and was ok with the sweater coming out a bit smaller than the specified dimensions and it worked out, for once.
We got a decent snowfall overnight, and I bundled JJ up in his sweater before going out to play today. Which was essential because he stayed outside for a whole 8 minutes!
The nice thing about this sweater is that it comes in an astounding range of sizes (infant through adult), so you could knit your whole family matching sweaters, and it's a pretty blank canvas, so you could easily play with the pattern, adding stripes, cables, lace panels, or other details.
And now, back to my zillions of other WIPs.
