Bound Off: 3 WIPs Off the Needles!
I've really been a knitting machine lately. Not that my output is astounding for your average knitter, but for a knitter with 2 kids and several deadlines approaching, it's been pretty impressive.
First, my sock drawer is in a sad, sad state, so I whipped up a quick pair of Rose City Rollers.
This pattern has taken the sock-knitting world by storm--it's a free pattern for a pair of basic ankle socks with a rolled cuff. These simple socks are perfect for self-striping yarn, and while most dyers now sell sock yarn in 100g hanks, if you happen to have 50g hanks in your stash, just 1 is (probably) enough for a pair!
I knit my socks in Quaere Fibre self-striping sock. A few months ago I purchased a duo from Janel--2 50g hanks in coordinating striped colorways--with these socks in mind. I used "On a Cloudy Day" for this pair, and the 64 stitch size used 37g.
I also finished up my very Hufflepuff Chanchito cardi for the HPKCHC Hufflepuff Baby Gift Brigade.
This is the 6 month size, knit in Shelridge Yarns Soft Touch DK, yarn that CP bought for me a few Rhinebecks ago. It's a nice soft superwash that should be perfect for a new, potentially messy, baby.
And lastly, I got Deadline Sweater Design #1 off the needles and into the mail. Here's a sneak peek:
Keep an eye out for this pattern later this year from Forbidden Woolery!
Now Deadline Sweater Design #2 is on the needles . . . October 2 fast approaches!
