Pattern Debut: Pradera
Yippie! New pattern day!
I'm obviously super excited to share a new pattern with you. Meet Pradera!
Just because winter's over doesn't mean you have to stop knitting. I designed Pradera as casual spring tee with a few special details, to be worn on chilly mornings and cool evenings, breezy beaches and shady picnics.
The front of this piece is knit in simple stockinette, with a keyhole neckline trimmed with I-cord. It's the back that boasts the unexpected surprise--box pleats covering a sweet bit of lace.
This tee features modest waist shaping, and is knit flat and seamed, with cap sleeves picked up around the armholes and shaped with short rows.
It's knit in a delightful lightweight yarn--Plucky Knitter Traveler Sport, a soft blend of superwash merino, mulberry silk and yak. Yes, yak! This yarn has beautiful drape and gorgeous sheen, and is surprisingly strong to boot. Go buy some immediately.
The pattern includes 6 sizes, as well as detailed instructions on working the pleats--if you've never knit pleats before, you're going to love it! It's almost as magical as turning the heel on a sock.
Many thanks to Plucky Knitter for supporting this design, to my tech editor, Cait, for patiently wading through the numbers in this pattern, my test knitters for their valuable feedback, and my beautiful sister for modeling this sweater and not walking off with the sample.
Purchase Pradera for $6 under the SHOP tab, or on Ravelry.
