Fall Knitting Plans
I am pleased to inform you that it is now autumn! Ok, technically there are still 2 more weeks of summer, and sure, it's still 90 degrees outside. I simply don't care.
We had our end-of-summer BBQ yesterday, and this morning the fall decorations were hauled up from the basement so I can get to work (I will leave the Halloween decorations until closer to October).
And as you all know, autumn=knitting. I've seen so many amazing patterns recently, narrowing down my potential fall projects is nearly impossible (not to mention the 3 design deadlines I have coming up next month).
First, I'm working on another Chanchito, to contribute to the Hufflepuff Baby Gift Brigade collection--the badgers playing the HP Knit and Crochet House Cup collect handknits for expectant badgers every term. I got a wonderful box when Ollie was a baby, and now that I have (slightly) more knitting time, I want to contribute.
I've already cast on for my Herne Cardigan from Knit Picks' Twist and Tweed Fall 2015 Collection. All that twisted rib nearly killed me, but I'm finally done the hem and ready to start the fun, cable-y part! I'm knitting it up in some Madelinetosh Vintage that's delightfully squishy.
And speaking of Knit Picks, how CUTE is this Pumpking dishcloth from Teresa Gregorio, AKA Canary Knits? I am really not a dishcloth person, but I HAVE to make this one!
I'd love to finish a Jesse Half-zip for JJ by Christmas--think I can make it happen? I bought 3 skeins of The Fibre Company's new yarn, Cumbria, to give it a shot!
Poor Ollie gets all the hand-me-downs, but I'd love to do a new sweater for him too--any suggestions? Or maybe Ollie should have a sweater designed in his honor? In my spare time . . .
And of course I'm still trying to get about 5 pair of half-finished socks off the needles, plus my Monte Rose cardigan--which is SO close!
So, what are you planning to knit for fall?
