Site Update and New Advertising

You may recall I said I was going to blog more in the new year, and then maybe you were confused to see me blogging even less often than usual.

There's a good reason for it though--I've been spending my usual blogging time working on a big site update! It may not be obvious at first, but I've reworked by Portfolio/Shop pages into a single page: PATTERNS. Now you can find all of my patterns--both self and 3rd-party published--organized by category on a single page.

In addition, nearly every pattern now has its own unique page on the site, which is usually mediaperuana.com/ patternname. This means you no longer have to search through the blog or site for information about a specific pattern, you can find all the info you need in one place, as long as you know the pattern name. And if I have tutorials available that will help with a given pattern, I've linked those too. The "buy it now" buttons will either take you through Ravelry to purchase a pattern, or to a 3rd party site, like Interweave or Knit Picks, as appropriate.

I've also been busy looking for relevant affiliate programs to support the site, and am happy to share that I've partnered with two new craft-related sites: Creativebug and CreativeLive. Both of these sites offer amazing classes for creative individuals and entrepreneurs, and you'll now see some advertising from them around the site. In additon, I'll be taking and reviewing some of the classes they offer, and may be sharing special offers from them from time to time.

(Don't worry, this site certainly won't become one of those blogs where you can't tell the ads from the content; ads will remain unobtrusive and any classes or links I share will always be relevant to knitting and knitwear design! Except for this one about Avocados from Mexico!

Just kidding.)

Now that this update is done, I can get back into the swing of regular blogging. Check back later this week for a review of Hunter Hammersen's latest book, Fine Things for Plain Occasions!
