Pattern Debut: Calentito

They're socks, they're slippers--they're slipper socks and they're a brand new pattern from MediaPeruana Designs!

The Calentito slipper socks are the perfect summer project, both to knit and to wear. These hybrids are constructed like traditional socks, knit from the toe up, but feature extra cozy stitch patterns too bulky for socks but perfect for slippers.

Beginning with extra squishy garter stitch at the toes, the slippers then transition to fisherman's rib, a pattern that's fun to knit and creates a thick, cozy fabric. The heel is worked in eye-of-partridge stitch, a pattern that utilizes slipped stitches to create a sturdy, long-wearing heel. They're finished off with a garter stitch cuff and voila--slippers for all seasons!

Even better-- the pattern includes 8 sizes, so you can knit a pair for the whole family (wouldn't you love to check off the holiday gift list with just one pattern?)!

The mix of stitches and textures will hold your interest while knitting, but the unfussy patterns mean these slippers will work with a variety of yarns--solid, variegated, even self-striping.

For this pattern release, I decided to record a little video for you guys, showing you all the details on these socks, and rambling in a hopefully charming way. Check it out:
