Pattern Debut and Giveaway: Pisaq Socks

What would Sock Week be without a new sock pattern?? Introducing Pisaq, a toe-up cabled sock available in 4 sizes. Inspired by the winding trails, steps and terraces of Pisaq in Peru's Sacred Valley, single stitch cables wind in and out, creating a unisex design that's fun to knit but simple enough to memorize.

You begin working columns of cables across the top of the foot immediately after the toe, and then pick up the cable pattern on the back of the leg after working the heel. As you work toward the cuff, the cables taper off, replaced with reverse stockinette stitch, until just two columns remain on the outside of the leg.

The Pisaq socks are worked in Knit Picks Hawthorne Kettle Dye, a sturdy fingering weight yarn with subtle color variations. It's tightly plied, helping the cables to pop, and promises to wear well. 
Alternately you may use 350-450 fingering weight yarn. 

The cable pattern is charted and works up especially quickly if you cable without a cable needle.
