Bound Off: Charm City Shawlette, the Sequel
I finished my second Charm City Shawlette! I cast this one on a few months ago for the Summer in the City KAL, using Madelinetosh Twist Light in a club color I got last year, Caterpillar. It's an amazing green with subtle streaks of yellow.
The yarn I used for the original Charm City Shawlette, Neighborhood Fiber Co. Cobblestone Sock, is a wool/cashmere/silk blend with gorgeous sheen; this yarn has nylon, so no sheen, but extra stretch. I was able to block this shawlette a bit more vigorously, and it's slightly larger.
This shawl weighs EXACTLY 100g--this was a 420yd skein, so I wasn't playing yarn chicken, but certainly could've been with a smaller skein. There are a few spots in the pattern where you can modify if you find yourself playing yarn chicken--always feel free to message me if you need help with that!
Now the question is--what do I need with two almost identical shawlettes? I haven't figured that one out yet.
If you're working on a project for the Summer in the City KAL, time is running out! Summer is nearly over (yay!!) and so's the KAL--be sure to post your photos in the KAL thread by midnight, Monday September 5 to be eligible for a prize! Remember, everyone who completes at least 1 project during the KAL will receive a brand new MediaPeruana Designs pattern (so excited to publish it next week!), and will be entered to win the grand prize, a Charm City Knits prize pack full of yarn and Baltimore-themed goodies.
