Pattern Debut: Thirty-fourth Street
Here it is--the FINAL pattern from Charm City Knits!
(I can hardly believe it!)
Inspired by the Christmas lights that criss-cross 34th Street every year, strung from rooftop to rooftop as part of the neighborhood's over-the-top holiday display, strings of cable-and-bobble lights decorate this pullover's yoke and sleeves.
Worked from the top down, Thirty-fourth Street is nearly seamless and with the body worked in stockinette, provides a nice mix of challenging and mindless knitting. The pattern includes 6 sizes and charts as well as written instructions are included for the cables.
The sample is shown in Dragonfly Fibers Traveller, superwash merino DK weight yarn that's soft enough to wear next to the skin and comes in an array of both nearly-solid and crazy variegated colors.
True story: even though it's MAY and usually warm and almost-summery by now in Maryland, it was so cold and dreary on Friday evening that I got to wear this sweater to The Knot House for their indie pop-up! I did wear a tshirt under in case I got overheated and needed to remove a layer, but it wasn't the least bit itchy on bare arms or around the neck. I got so many compliments, it was a big hit!
When my sister and I visited Camden Yards to photograph the Eutaw Street socks, we planned to just take photos at the main gate. But we found the gates open for a charity walk. This meant we got a LOT more questions about what on earth we were doing than anticipated, but also meant we could stealthily (or not) wander into the bullpen area for some photos of this sweater.
And with this, the Charm City Knits collection is complete! Thirty-fourth Street is available as a stand-alone pattern for $6.50, or you can now purchase the complete collection for $12.99 and get all six patterns in one handy ebook. Plus, when you buy the ebook you'll also get each individual pattern file--much easier to print!
And don't worry, the fun is just starting--the Summer in the City KAL kicks off in just a few weeks! All summer we'll be knitting Charm City Knits patterns and giving out lots of prizes. Join us!
