Pattern Debut: Patapsco

I've had so many patterns debuting the last few weeks, I've had a hard time keeping up with blogging about them! But I don't want to miss the chance to tell you about Patapsco, an adorable headband/legwarmer combo that's part of Knit Picks new On the Go Knits collection. 

Both are worked in fingering weight yarn, shown here in Hawthorne Kettle Dyed, a yarn I've already raved about. Both are worked in a textured slipped stitch, but the legwarmers also have a long cable detail that can be worn to the front or back. 

What I love about knit headbands is how easy it is to pull them over your ears if they get chilly! Especially if you're being active, a hat can be too much, but your ears still get cold. This piece has 2 buttonholes so you can adjust the size depending on whether you want room to tug it over your frozen ears or not. 

The legwarmers come in 3 sizes, and of course, you can knit them as tall or short as you like. Legwarmers are another piece that's great for outdoor activity--you don't want bulky, wooly socks scrunched up in your running shoes making your feet sweat, but you do want some warmth on your legs! They slip on easily over leggings and can help cover up that pesky gap you get between the tops of your shoes and the hem of your pants.
